A Mississippi city was at the center of Twitter rage Friday after calling Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by another name. 

While announcing municipal offices would be closed Monday, the city of Biloxi’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts said the absence was due to “Great Americans Day.”

Non-emergency municipal offices in Biloxi will be closed on Monday in observance of Great Americans Day.

No mention of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, which is celebrated as a national holiday honoring the man who fought for civil rights before he was assassinated in 1968. Read more…
